can you believe it friends? this itineration is almost over!
it is with mixed tears i write this post.
when i was twelve and getting ready to head out on my first missions trip to belize, central america ... i knew this was what God would have for me ... for as many days as He gave me to breathe.... oh, and i am ever-so-grateful! His faithfulness surpasses anything i could have ever hoped for!
the mixed tears are because ... well, as i was sharing my joy with my dear Pawpaw (the most precious 82 year old man ever) his whole face turned red and he lamented over how much he will miss me. yes, of course the tears are flowing ... and i’m not much of a crier! those tears of knowing how much i will miss pawpaw... some days i wish i could just box him up and take him with me!
truth is, i’ll miss my pawpaw terribly ... but i’d be amiss to choose an earthly relationship over the design and plan of King Jesus! and after the red went down in his face... he testified in church on sunday night about how proud he is of me... his granddaughter the missionary. something tells me he is willing to forego morning coffees with me so the nations can know JESUS! ah, there is so much about that man i admire!

just about 6 more weeks of itineration here in North Texas.... and i’ll get in a lot of cups of coffee with my dear pawpaw in these 6 weeks!
then i’m off to san jose, costa rica for language school and onward to ARGENTINA!

... would love to see you in the next 6 weeks!

it is a bit hard to believe that it has been a year since i was taken by the hand and shown around a lovely home in the outskirts of Bombay.
the girl who held my hand... she had lived a life of unspeakable pain. a few moments of walking and seeing her room (which she shared with other girls who had also been rescued...) left a permanent mark on my heart.

just before touring the homes of hope, we sang and greeted the lovely girls in the main room of one of the homes. for years, i had been praying for girls these girls. ... the girls that had been rotating in and out of the homes for several years. when i greeted them publicly, i share that with them through my teary eyes.

my next trip isn’t for a week, it is for a life-time.

destination: ARGENTINA!

our daughters in Argentina are waiting to hear the gospel of Jesus... to hear the story of life - that will set them free! my desire is that our daughters in Argentina would come to health, healing and wholenss through personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

today there is one thing that stands in the way of me being in Argentina.... $1025 a month in monthly commitments. will you take a moment and ask the Lord to speak to your heart about how you can partner with me to Change the World ~ One Girl at a Time?

for those of you who so faithfully partner with me.... not only do I thank you, but our daughters thank you too!

last week i had the wonderful opportunity to take my sweet pawpaw to the texas state fair. this amazing 82 year old man has worked the cotton fields of east texas; laid rail road track from hunt county toward dallas; been know as “the” barber in lake worth for many years; taught me to ride a bike and drive a car. among many other accomplishments in life, he is known by his grandchildren (3) as a wonderful grandpa who loves them ... and who loves Jesus.
 it has been fun to grab a cup of coffee or dinner with him during the last few months. i enjoy it so much when he calls early in the morning asking me to meet him for a cup at starbucks, or come over to his house for an egg and coffee.
yep, i’ll miss him when i leave for language school and then onward to argentina.. but someday we will never have to say “goodbye!”

who knows... when we get to heaven there just might be a quaint little coffee shop beside the river where my grandma (sunshine), grandpa (pawpaw) and i can sit and catch up and talk about the faithfulness of our Lord!

sometime during eternity, i’ll enjoy introducing my grandparents to tons of girls, that today, are in the red light districts of argentina... but soon will experience the healing, saving and freeing power of Jesus Christ!

yes, i willingly and gladly give up coffee dates with my pawpaw to be a missionary. why? because pawpaw and i will have eternity to “drink coffee” together and praise Jesus ... almost a half million girls in northern argentina don’t even know who Jesus is.
